Deep blue skies, bright sunshine, colourful meadows, impressive views and cosy evenings: enjoy an unforgettable break with family flair. Summer on the farm in South Tyrol makes your dreams come true.

In summer there is a lot to do on the farms in South Tyrol. The mountain farmers bring the young cattle to the higher Alpine meadows. There the cattle spend the summer months among the Alpine grasses in the fresh air. In order to store a supply of fodder for the winter, the meadows around the farm are mowed and the dry hay is brought in. On the fruit farm, the apples that are still small are plucked in summer – in South Tyrol this is known as the manual thinning of the fruit. This gives the remaining apples enough space to grow and thrive. In August the time has finally come, the first apple varieties are picked by hand. The winegrowers have to be a little more patient for the harvest. In summer, the shoots of the vines are cut and excess leaves are removed so that the grapes have enough space and sun to ripen.

Get outside

Get out and let off steam in the natural playground, just stare up into the blue from the hammock, seek the shade under the walnut tree and end the day with a glass of home-grown wine under the arbour. A summer holiday on the farm in South Tyrol takes place mostly outside. The fresh mountain air or a dip in the natural bathing pond will cool you down. At the warm time of the year, you will find a place to relax on the farm. Numerous resting places around the farm invite you to sit back and relax with a wonderful view and forget everyday life. Meanwhile, the many animals keep the children company. The cats look forward to being stroked, the farm dog to exciting walks and the rabbits to fresh grass. Moments of culinary pleasure take place in the snack garden. Here you will find sweet, red berries as far as the eye can see. Before you know it, they've been picked and end up directly in your mouth. The fruit trees on the farm also bear a lot of fruit in summer. Cherries, apricots and peaches are freshly harvested by the farm family and cooked into tasty jams. Delicious syrups are made from the blooming elder bush and the fragrant peppermint in the herb garden - the perfect thirst quencher for hot days. So that you can remember your holiday for a long time to come, you will also find the lovingly processed products in the farm shop. Here you can take a piece of the farm home with you.

Time for adventure

In summer not only the farm, but also the surrounding landscape is waiting for you to explore it. In the morning you will be amazed by the breathtaking view from your holiday apartment or room and you will be excited to start a long-awaited mountain tour or leisurely Alpine hike. Meanwhile, the car stays put. On some farms in South Tyrol, the farm family hikes together with their guests to their own Alpine pasture. There they have a break with an afternoon snack made up of products from the farm, and enjoy the sun on the blooming meadow. Early risers and adventurous types are in the right place with a sunrise tour. You will head out from the farm early in the morning to marvel at the first rays of sunshine from the nearest vantage point.
