Winter

Desire for snow

When the snow falls on the surrounding meadows and forests with a white coat, it's winter on the farm. In the cold season, peace returns and the accommodation offers a heavenly retreat in the midst of the snow-covered, winter landscape.

When the snow falls on the surrounding meadows and forests with a white coat, it's winter on the farm. In the cold season, peace returns and the accommodation offers a heavenly retreat in the midst of the snow-covered, winter landscape.

With frosty temperatures and the first snowflakes, nature falls into hibernation. There is still a lot to do for the farmers in South Tyrol. On the fruit farm, the time is used to remove sick trees and get the equipment ready for the new year. The most important work, however, is the pruning. The trees are shaped in winter so that the apples can later thrive under optimal conditions. The vines on the wine farm are also pruned by hand so that they will bear plenty of fruit the next year. The mountain farmers take care of their animals in the barn and get the tools in good shape. Trees are felled in the forest and the wood is then transported away. The precious firewood is used to heat the farmhouse. The tiled stove in the living room creates a cosy warmth and the stove bench invites you to take a well-deserved rest after the work is done.

Close your eyes and relax

Relaxation is guaranteed on South Tyrolean farms in winter. There is a cosy warmth, along with peace and quiet. The wooden floor under your feet ensures a particularly good feeling. The feeling you get when you walk barefoot through the warm apartment after a long winter day is unbeatable. Relaxed and happy, you retreat to the reading corner of your holiday apartment or room with a good book. Snuggled up on the soft pillows, time flies by and you are already looking forward to the adventures of the next day. During a winter holiday, the farming family will show you the traditions they live by, tell you about delicious original recipes or take you to special places that hardly anyone else gets to see. At the beginning of a perfect winter day, however, there is a rich breakfast with many products from the farm. While the first rays of sunshine peer over the mountain peaks, you can take your time and enjoy a wonderful start to the day. Strengthened with many homemade delicacies, you can then head out into the fresh winter air.

Dancing flakes

Leave the first tracks in the fresh, powdery snow – a true dream for every winter sports fan. You will find idyllic winter trails, exciting sledging runs and perfectly groomed cross-country ski runs right on your doorstep. The glittering mountains and snow-covered forests lure everyone outside. With wide snowshoes on your feet, you can effortlessly explore the mountain world even in deep snow. You will be accompanied by the radiant sun shining down from the sky. When cross-country skiing, you will glide through quiet valleys and picturesque landscapes. The skiers are also taken care of on the slopes. Some farms in South Tyrol are located directly on small family ski areas, with clearly marked slopes and fun in the snow for the whole family. If you prefer to spend the day on the farm, you don't have to worry about boredom there either: compete to slide down the sledging slope, build a big snowman or follow the tracks of the animals in the snow. In the evening you can sit with the farming family in the living room by the crackling open fire. Enjoy a hot cup of herbal tea combined with interesting and pleasant conversations. When it gets late, you can retreat to the comfortable holiday apartment or cosy room and make plans for the next winter day on the farm.
