Tradition, music and a sense of community come together annually in Ritten on Assumption Day.
The Ritten Ascension Day Festival, organised by the Ritten music band, is a popular event for everyone.
The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a nice morning tipple, but the highlight of the festival is the Kirchtag (Ascension Day) parade at 2 p.m., where you can admire elaborately-decorated floats. Every year, these are created by the Ritten band musicians using a theme from the worlds of agriculture, handicrafts or tourism.
In addition to the typical local dishes, there are lots of fun games at the festival grounds, such as the chairoplanes, the bowling alley and a fishing game. The entire event is musically accompanied by numerous bands.
