Named after the most important German-language songwriter of the late Middle Ages, the Oswald von Wolkenstein Tournament involves teams of four riders competing in various challenges. These are the "Ringstechen", “Labyrinth" and "Galopp" or "Tor-Ritt" and date back to the time of the South Tyrolean minnesingers. With a supporting programme of wonderful scenery, South Tyrolean folklore, colourful traditional costumes and magnificent horses, the event attracts fans from all over Europe to the Seiser Alm.
