South Tyrol 'Krapfen' festival

Anyone on the lookout for tradition and enjoyment will love the 'Krapfenfest' in Ultental valley. This event revolves around South Tyrolean 'Krapfen' so beloved of foodies. Visitors can expect crispy, golden-brown 'Krapfen' doughnuts filled with jam, poppyseed or chestnut. These 'Krapfen' are made on site to traditional recipes by a multitude of farmwomen from the region. Yet the festival is not only limited to the these traditional treats - there is live folk music, lots of dancing and artisan stands, too. A festival to be savoured with all the senses that give visitors an insight into the culture and cuisine of South Tyrol.
