Spring

Floral dreams and sunny days

While the mountain peaks still shine in white splendour, the first flowers are already blooming on the meadows and pastures. Spring on South Tyrol's farms is a time of scenic contrasts.

While the mountain peaks still shine in white splendour, the first flowers are already blooming on the meadows and pastures. Spring on South Tyrol's farms is a time of scenic contrasts.

After the winter break, the farms come to life again. There is a lot of farming work to do. The farmers plant vines and fruit trees, fertilize meadows and repair fences. In the farm garden, the women farmers dig up the ground, take out the weeds and water the first seedlings. Then it's fingers crossed that the young plants will sprout and that the frost won't destroy the work that has been done. The kitchen also turns green in spring. Nature provides the first ingredients: fresh dandelion, aromatic wild garlic and intense nettle. The high nutrient content of the wild herbs provides the body with fresh energy. For the guests in the holiday apartments and rooms, spring on the farm in South Tyrol means: finally enjoying the warmth and soaking up the sun. In the morning you can enjoy the first rays of sunshine with a relaxed farm breakfast in the garden.

Floral splendour

The Mediterranean climate in South Tyrol ensures mild temperatures early on in the year. It is the ideal time for all those who want to refresh their spirits after the cold winter months and finally fulfil their longing to be outside again. In warm sunshine, blooming meadows lure active holidaymakers and those seeking relaxation out into the fresh air. No matter what the altitude, everywhere is green and nature is trying to outdo itself with its colourful splendour. At the bottom of the valley, the apple blossoms invite you to take relaxing bike tours and walks. The Waalwege paths along small water canals that were built in the past to irrigate dry areas are particularly popular in spring. In the mountains, on the other hand, it is the crocuses that are the first heralds of spring, covering the meadows and stretching their white and violet heads towards the spring sun.

Baby animals

No season on a South Tyrolean farm is as adorable as spring. What could be nicer than stroking a fluffy newly hatched chick or watching snow-white lambs open their eyes and calves make their first attempts to walk? Cute kittens explore the farm and barn with careful steps and guarantee funny moments with their curiosity. Guests find the newborn baby animals fascinating. The children are delighted, and they have a lot to do since the baby animals need to be taken care of: the calves are given water and the chicks are fed. The lambs look forward to lush spring grass and small cats to plenty of petting.
