The farm

Strickerhof farm can be found in the midst of orchards in the valley basin of Bozen/Bolzano near Sigmundskron/Firmian castle. This organic farm has a long wine tradition going back to 1907. Today, the family shop sells fresh seasonal fruit, superb quince jelly and distillates, as well as a variety of apple juices and grape juice.

Knowing where it's from

Karl has been producing fruit and wine according to organic guidelines since 1998. Vernatsch, which is typical of the region, as well as varieties such as Chardonnay and Lagrein thrive particularly well at Strickerhof because of the mild climate and the coolness in the vineyards at night. The fungus-resistant Bronner, as well as Goldmuskateller and Chambourcin, also ripen here under favourable conditions.

Processing

The harvested grapes are gently pressed with great expertise and many years of experience and, depending on the type of wine, go through different fermentation and clarification processes. The expansion takes place in stainless steel tanks until it is filled in spring, while the Lagrein matures in wooden barrels. In this way, farmer Karl achieves the typical colors and special aromas of his wines.
