No less than 40 different apple varieties and selected Piwi grapes are grown at the Santerhof following strict organic guidelines and processed into fruit juice and wine. As the name of the farm suggests, the fruit and wine estate is located on sandy soil. The high silicate content in the Brixen granite gives the products very special flavours.

Knowing where it's from
The Santerhof in Mühlbach has been producing according to organic guidelines for over 30 years. Grapes and apples are grown with a minimum of biological pesticides. Fungus-resistant grape varieties (PIWIS) are used for the wines, which do not need to be treated in years with a low risk of powdery and downy mildew. The main apple varieties are Topaz, Pinova and Florina. In addition, around 40 different apple varieties, some of which have been forgotten, are grown.
Healthy and strong vines with high-quality grapes require a lot of know-how
Processing
The grapes, which are picked when they are fully ripe, are carefully processed on the farm and stored in the wine cellar. This is how high-quality white wines, red wines and a rosé wine are produced. For the production of the apple juice, Wilhelm uses a colorful variety of different types of apples, which are pressed, pasteurized and filled into glass bottles.
