Woodturning

The piece being worked on the constantly humming woodturning lathe is starting to take shape. A one-off artwork is in the making. The art of woodturning is precision work, whereby wood is skillfully chipped away at, resulting in a work of art. Inspired by the colours and shape of the wood, this handcraft throws up individual and modern creations. This is how unique pieces come into being that enhance their surroundings: vases or bowls, as well as fruit, spheres and fine jewellery made of wood. Lots of hours of work and passion lie behind these hand-made pieces.

Weaving

Bendy twigs are turned into artistic one-off items with skillful handiwork. Carefully, each twig is wound around the basic weaving frame. This does not just require lots of strength and stamina, but also skill and a certain knack. Techniques handed down through the ages are successfully combined with new and innovative ideas to create works of art in various forms. From handy baskets to decorative, delicate woven objects such as bowls, lanterns and bags – there’s no end to the scope for creativity.
