Farmer’s Wedding

At the traditional rustic wedding in Kastelruth, visitors find out about old traditional costumes and get a sense of times gone by. A farmer’s wedding party is meticulously recreated as it moves on decorated horse-drawn sleighs through the snow-covered countryside into the centre of Kastelruth. The entire group, from the bride and groom to the "marender" and the wedding organiser, is dressed in original costumes. Various couples then pose for the wedding photo on the steps outside the Kastelruth tower. Samples of the wedding menu and traditional band music round off the event.
