Cozy winter circular hike from Tall to the Hirzer area with stunning views over Merano.
The well-prepared trail is also suitable for families with children. You can also bring a sled for the downhill ride, which you can rent at restaurant Sterneck.

Winter hiking boots & warm clothes.
- Free parking lot at the middle station of the Hirzer cable car.
From Merano to Schenna and Verdins to Obertall.
- Bus line 231 from Merano to Schenna and Verdins (Verdins stop)
- From December 26th to January 6th, daily from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM.
This winter hike starts in Obertall. From here, you first follow the paved access road that takes you comfortably to Gasthof Hochwies.
You then continue on trail no. 4, which winds through the snowy landscape, past snow-covered forests, until you reach Gompm Alm.
Afterwards, you walk along a flat, well-prepared path that leads directly to Gasthof Grube.
Behind the Gasthof, trail no. 7A and 2 takes you downhill (sledding is possible) to Oberkirn, from where you can walk back to Obertall.
You then continue on trail no. 4, which winds through the snowy landscape, past snow-covered forests, until you reach Gompm Alm.
