The hike starts in Petersberg, at the parking lot near the village center. Follow Trail [1] gently uphill to the pilgrimage site Maria Weißenstein.
From there, continue on the European long-distance trail [E5], through a quiet snowy landscape to the Schönrast Alm, and further on to the Schmieder Alm.
Via the Gorzsteig, you reach the Lahner Alm, offering stunning panoramic views.
The return route follows Trail [5], which reconnects with the [E5], then retrace your steps back to Maria Weißenstein and Petersberg.
