A short, family-friendly winter hike through the snowy forest of Moos up to the Hennstoll.

- Ideal tour for beginners to winter hiking
- Suitable for children
- Quiet trail through dense forest with a beautiful view at the destination

Important notice: Proper footwear and suitable winter clothing are required for all winter hikes. Due to possible icy sections – even on groomed trails – the use of microspikes/crampons and trekking poles is recommended.

Parking available in the center of Moos (time limited).

Coming from the Puster Valley, turn into the Sexten Valley at Innichen. Coming from the Kreuzberg Pass, follow the main road to Moos. Start anywhere in the center of Moos.

Line 446, bus stop Moos Kirche; alternatively, line 440 during the high season.

The hike starts in Moos at the church. From here, follow the sidewalk downhill past the Löwe restaurant. Shortly afterward, cross the Fischleintal street at the large intersection and then follow the main road SS52 (St.-Joseph-Steet) uphill towards the Kreuzberg Pass. On the sidewalk, continue past the Hotel Drei Zinnen until you reach Hotel Rainer. A little above, there is a bus stop. Here, cross the road and take the hiking trail No. 1, which initially ascends steeply towards Hennstoll. The easy winter hiking trail leads through a dense forest and after about 1.2 kilometers reaches the destination of the hike – the Hennstoll hut.

For the return, you can either go back the same way or continue on a side road uphill to the main road. From there, you reach a bus stop for a convenient bus ride back. The hike can also be continued towards the Kreuzberg Pass (approx. 1 hour 20 minutes)
