Cislon Alm is a wonderful winter destination: enjoy the snowy landscape, the peaceful forest and the impressive views of the surrounding mountains.
This walk takes you from Auer, through an idyllic wood, to the wine village of Montan. The mountainside along which the path winds is particularly famous for the typical vineyards where the best Pinot Noir grapes in South Tyrol grow. Montan is also the ideal starting point for the magnificent panoramic trail that has been made from the old railway line that once led all the way into the Fleimstal Valley.
The trails are prepared for winter hiking, but winter conditions should still be considered. Some sections may be slippery due to ice or snow.
Winter hiking boots with good grip or snowshoes, warm clothing, gloves, hat, sufficient water, sun protection and hiking poles.
From Auer through idyllic woods to Montan: discover vineyards with South Tyrol’s finest Pinot Noir and the scenic panoramic trail of the former Fleimstal railway.
Parking is available at the northern entrance of Truden near the starting point of the hike.
Highway exit A22 Neumarkt/Auer; 3 km to Auer; take the Fleimstalstraße; after 200 metres on the right side is the free parking Schwarzenbach.
Getting to the starting point of the tour or point of interest by public transport is easy and convenient.
The starting point is Auer’s main square. From Truidnstraße you arrive at the church square, and passing the church of Santa Maria on your right, you reach Wasserfallstraße. From the protective barrier, crossing the bridge, path no. 3 leads to Montan. Along a shaded forest path, the walk continues up to Dolomitenstraße. Here you take the underpass and descend to the tennis courts. On the opposite side of the road, path no. 4 leads you back through the magnificent vineyards to Auer. Alternatively, you can take bus line 140 from Dolomitenstraße back to Auer.
If you still have enough energy, continue in Montan past the tennis courts to the village square and follow the signs towards Pinzon. At the end of the road, the “Alte Fleimstalbahn” trail leads all the way to San Lugano along a beautiful panoramic route.
