Doss viewpoint: unique view of the 3 castles - Tirol Castle, Brunnenburg & Thurnstein Castle - plus the village of St. Peter, all of which are surrounded by vineyards and orchards.

Visit the museum in Tirol Castle or a bird of prey flying demonstration in the Bird Care Centre next to the castle.

Please note: in the winter months from mid-December to mid-March, Tirol Castle and the Bird Care Centre are closed.

Easy walk along the Schlossweg from the centre of the village of Dorf Tirol.

Chargeable parking just down from the tourist information office near the turn-off onto Aichweg.

Along the Bolzano/Bozen-Meran/Merano expressway to the exit Meran South-Sinich/Sinigo - Dorf Tirol/Tirolo - along the main street to the tourist information association (main street 31).

Take bus no. 221 from Meran/Merano to Dorf Tirol as far as the bus station in the centre.

From the tourist information office in the centre of Dorf Tirol follow the signs to Tirol Castle. Past the parish church, Schlossweg branches off to the left just above the cemetery. The route passes through a narrow alleyway to the Doss viewpoint. Here the trail branches off to the right and initially passes between vineyards and orchards, then through a small tunnel (Knappenloch) and over a bridge that crosses the Köstengraben gorge. Finally, there is a short, steep climb to the castle.

The quickest way back to the starting point is to follow the same route.
