How is tasty mountain cheese made?
The ‘Drei Zinnen’ display dairy at Dobbiaco/Toblach and the ‘Milk Mile’ at Sesto/Sexten provide answers to questions like this. The local Alpine dairy farming world is explained along an interactive woodland trail. Interested visitors can try their hand at milking using a wooden cow and read how the various cheese types are made.

Parking available in the center of Moos (time limited).
Coming from the Puster Valley, turn into the Sexten Valley at Innichen. Coming from the Kreuzberg Pass, follow the main road to Moos. Start anywhere in the center of Moos.
Line 446, bus stop Moos Church; alternatively, line 440 during the high season.
The starting point is the Moser Waldile playground. From there, follow the road towards the stream and walk between Haus Sarah Apartments and Haus Barbara Apartments. Shortly before the bridge, a gravel path branches off, which you follow out of the valley, in the direction of the stream. Stay on this path, cross a bridge and then take the wide asphalt path out of the valley (left).

Further on, you cross the cross-country ski trail twice and pass another playground with a small football pitch. Stay on the asphalt road and walk past the Hotel Monika. You will then reach a crossroads. Take the road that crosses the stream, keep to the right immediately afterwards and follow the path branching off to the right out of the valley again.

You will now pass a small ski lift and continue on this path. At the next crossroads, take the path directly next to the river, which is signposted with a green arrow as milk mile. Follow this path, pass another playground and then cross a small side road.

Then walk past the Kraler sports shop. Immediately after the shop, you will reach the Sexten cheese dairy, which marks the end of the milk mile. The path can of course also be walked in the opposite direction, starting at the cheese dairy and heading towards Moos.
