The Three-Alpine-Farms Hike, which leads to three different alpine farms, affords fabulous views as it leads hikers through the plateau’s unique winterlandscape and past the Bruggen Pond.

Due to temperature fluctuations and sub-zero temperatures at night, the hiking trails may be icy. We strongly advise caution and recommend using snow chains for hiking boots.

We recommend to provide information about the current situation.

Parking area in Hafling Dorf/Avelengo paese, on charge (below the parish church)

Coming from both directions of the freeway Meran/Merano - Bolzano/Bozen (MEBO), take the exit of Meran Süd/Merano Sud and follow directions towards Meran first, to then turn right towards Hafling/Avelengo, follow the street until the parking lot in Hafling Dorf (below the parish church).

The hike begins in the village of Hafling/Avelengo. It follows trail no. 2A to the Avelina Restaurant and then continues to the first alpine farm, called Wurzer Alm. Trail no. 2 leads up to the second alpine farm, called Vöraner Alm, where you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of South Tyrol’s mountains. The return trip follows trail no. 11 and leads to the third alpine farm, Leadner Alm. From there, the route continues back to the village of Hafling on trail no. 16.
