Brixen - Bressanone / Valcroce - Kreuztal
The Brixen High Mountain Trail on the Plose Mountain
Die Tour kann man auch „gegen den Uhrzeigersinn“ unternehmen. Anstieg zur Plosehütte und Abstieg vom Telegraph zur Ochsenalm und zurück zur Bergstation.
At the cabin-railway mountain terminal called Valcroce - Kreuztal (2,050 metres), take the high road (path # 30) in a northerly direction, along the tree-growing limit to the Ochsenalm (2,085 metres, snack bar). Then ascend on foot path # 6 to the Plosescharte and along the ridge to the Leonhard Cross. Walk along a small path on the ridge to the telegraph Plose summit (2,486 metres, panoramic views) and from there in a southerly direction to the Plose Hut (2,446 metres, snack bar). Descend on path # 7 to Kreuztal.

This hike starts at the top station of the Plose gondola lift and follows a scenic loop high above Brixen. The trails climbs along the slopes of Schönjöchl to the saddle of the same name and, along the ridge, up to the Plose Hut (2,447 m). From there, a short, almost level stretch leads to the Telegraph viewpoint, where an impressive panorama platform awaits. Views sweep from the Zillertal Alps to the Dolomites, from the Brenta Group in the south to the Ortler massif in the west. A panorama table helps you identify the surrounding peaks at a glance. The route then descends to the lodge Ochsenalm; on the first section sure-footedness is required, after which the trail becomes gentler. From the Ochsenalm, trail no. 30 runs almost level along the upper edge of the stone pine forest back to Kreuztal/Valcroce, crossing hollows, gullies and the striking Trametsch Trench—staying in the heart of the panorama until the very end.
