Towering high above Partschins, the Zielspitze summit (3,006 m) is regarded as the village’s iconic mountain. It is the first peak along the ridge between the Zieltal and the Schnalstal valleys and forms the Demanding high-alpine tour suitable only for experienced and sure-footed mountaineers.

Challenging summit ascent from the Texelbahn via the Zieltal Valley to summit Zielspitze, returning along the same route.

End Point

Texelbahn Cable Car Mountain Station

Texelbahn cable car – Merano High Mountain Trail Nr. 24 – Nasereit Hut – trail 8 – Ginglegg – marking 3 – Königshof Alm – summit Zielspitze – return same route

From the Texelbahn mountain station, follow the Merano High Mountain Trail Nr. 24 to Nasereit Hut (1,525 m).

Continue on trail 8 into the Zieltal Valley to Ginglegg (1,891 m). From there, follow marking 3 to the ruins of Königshof Alm (2,348 m).

The route then turns left towards summit Zielspitze (3,006 m), climbing through alpine terrain with rocky and partly steep sections.

Descend via the same route.

Variant

Experienced and very fit mountaineers may choose the more demanding ascent via trail 2 through the Schindeltal Valley. The upper section requires absolute sure footing and a head for heights.

Did you know?

Zielspitze is the iconic home mountain of Partschins and a striking peak visible from Meran. Each year, the number 7 appears clearly in the snow below the summit. In the past, local farmers used to say: “As long as you can see the 7, more snow is coming.”

This natural sign inspired the name of the drink SIEMR, available at the tourist offices in Partschins and Rabland as well as in selected shops.
