Du beginnst die Wanderung bei den Pragser Skiliften der Markierung Nr. 15 folgend zur Putzalm. Am Anfang wanderst du eben durch grüne Wiesen und Lärchenlichtungen. Der Weg führt dich  am Bach entlang. Auf ca. 1.600 m Höhe angelangt, erkennst du links einen schmäleren, aber gut markierten Weg, der in den Wald hineinführt. Bald darauf erreichst du den Buchsenriedl auf 1.800 m. Hinter dem Holzgitter der Einzäunung führt dich ein breiter Weg in kurzer Zeit hinunter zur urigen Putzalm. Die Gehzeit beträgt 2 Stunden.
