The Klausen Town Museum is located in the former Capuchin Monastery, founded thanks to a donation by the Spanish Queen Maria Anna (1667–1740). Today, the museum houses important collections and offers fascinating insights into the town’s history and culture.

A special highlight is the unique Loreto Treasure, featuring valuable works of art and objects from various parts of Europe. Another focus of the permanent exhibition is the Klausen Artists’ Colony (1874–1914), with its renowned representative Alexander Koester.

With five temporary exhibitions each year, the museum gallery also offers a varied programme and continually presents new perspectives on art and culture.
