The Sopranes Lakes (Spronser Seen) belong to South Tyrol’s largest high alpine lake district and are part of the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park, South Tyrol’s largest nature park. These lakes supply parts of the town of Merano with water. Moreover these lakes represent a very popular hiking destination both for adults and children.
The circular trail to the largest alpine group of lakes in South Tyrol, the Spronser Seen, is a challenging but worthwhile and beautiful mountain tour, right in the heart of the nature park Texelgruppe. During this hike you will experience an impressive, still largely untouched high mountain landscape. There are ten lakes in total, which are embedded in steps one above the other in alpine pastures and rounded rocky humps.
