Parking available at the Helmjet Sexten (parking fees apply after 4 hours during peak season); parking available also at fortress Mitterberg
Coming from the Pustertal valley, turn into the Sexten valley in Innichen. If arriving from the Kreuzberg pass, follow the main road until you reach Sexten. The start is located at the Haus der Berge, Dolomitenstraße 45A or at the fortress Mitterberg
Line 446, bus stop Sexten Helm; alternatively, during the high season, also line 440.
Starting from fortress Mitterberg (public parking lot) – via Gasthof Panorama (1576 m) – you hike along a forest road (path no. 13) to the Helmhanghütte hut (1605 m). From there, the hike can be extended as desired towards the Sexten Alpine Pastures.
