The snowshoe walk to the Haniger Schwaige hut (closed in winter) takes you below the imposing face of the Rosengarten massif and under the Vajolettürme, giving you a truly unique experience of the countryside. Given that the trail leads over steep mountain meadows, you must take heed of weather conditions and avalanche warnings.

The starting point of the tour or the sight is easily and comfortably accessible by public transport:

By bus line 176 from Völs am Schlern to St. Zyprian or by bus line 185 from Bozen bus station to St. Zyprian.

The walk begins at the bus stop St. Zyprian along trail no. 1 to the Niger Pass. Cross the road and follow the toboggan route until you get to the Baumannschwaige hut. Then make your way up the steep trail to Tumlwiesen and Angelwiesen meadows. Passing the Haniger mountain hut, the trail leads down to the Plafötsch hut and over the Traunwiesen meadows back to the set-off point.
