Above Anterivo/Altrei, a small mountain town on South Tyrol’s language border, some mythical figures are making trouble for some time. Through oral transfer, people of Anterivo have succeeded in preserving their legends until the present day. The local library has collected and written down the legends with children of Anterivo. The primary school staff and pupils used this as a chance to develop the "Trail of Legends".

The hiking trail, which is about 2 km long, starts at the "Lärchenheim" and passes massive larch trees and a partly dense forest until it reaches the sports centre "Ebnerrast".

Starting point: Altrei village centre

Route: The Legend Trail begins in the centre of Altrei, near the Parish Church of St. Catherine, and follows an approximately 3.8 km circular route through the larch forests above the village to the Ebnerrast sports area. From there, the trail returns to the starting point via the circular route. The path is easy to walk and particularly suitable for families.

Refreshment stops along the route: Hotel Langeshof, Pizzeria Bar Ristorante Ebnerrast, inns, cafés and mountain huts in Altrei, as well as refreshment options in the village centre.

Highlights: Altrei’s larch forests, Ebnerrast sports area, wooden figures inspired by Altrei’s legendary characters, natural woodland landscapes and views of Trudner Horn Nature Park.
