Route description

The tour begins at the mountain station of the Paolina chairlift (Paolinahütte mountain hut 2,125 m). From here take the Hirzelsteig trail [552] and then trail [549] to the Vajolon Pass. The via ferrata to the peak of the Rotwand mountain begins here (2,806 m). Descent is on the via ferrata to the Fensterleturm tower and the Teufelswand face and on to the Rotwandhütte mountain hut (2,283 m). From here, continue the descent on trail [549] and [539] back to the starting point.

Difficulty: medium (A/B) - only with climbing equipment, helmet, sure-footedness and Alpine experience essential

General description

This via ferrata is not technically difficult, but does include one difficult passage. It is famed for the beautiful scenery and overwhelming panoramic views.
