Andreas Hofer hid for one and a half months with his family at the Pfandler Alm mountain hut, above St. Martin. On January 28, 1810, he was captured and taken to Bozen and Mantova.

The Pfandler Alm is only accessible on foot.

• Parking lot above the Pfandlerhof

• Coming from Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to St. Martin, turn left at the first street (before the playgroud) and follow the street Prantach for ca. 5 km

• Coming from the Jaufenpass towards Meran, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to St. Martin, turn right at the last street (after the playgroud) and follow the street Prantach for ca. 5 km

• Coming from the Timmelsjoch towards Moos, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße towards St. Leonhard on the same road, then continue towards Meran on the Jaufenstraße SS44 to St. Martin, turn right at the last street (after the playgroud) and follow the street Prantach for ca. 5 km
