Partschins
Nörderberg High Forest Walk
Highlights:
-The Church of Maria Schnee and the Church of The Holy Heart of Jesus, both in Aschbach/Rio Lagundo
-Rasner Kreuz crossroad
Rasner Kreuz (1,416 m) on the Partschins Nörderberg is linked to a local legend dating back to 1820. A farmer from the Rasner farmstead was confronted by a brown bear while returning home after working in the forests and sought refuge in a tree, where he spent the night until the animal finally left at dawn.
In gratitude for his safe escape, the farmer erected a wayside cross at this spot, which has been carefully maintained ever since. Nearby, attentive visitors can also discover the remains of a prehistoric hillfort around 5,000 years old, bearing witness to early settlement in this woodland area.
The Nörderberg High Forest Walk is a family-friendly out-and-back hike on the Partschins Nörderberg. The shaded forest path is especially pleasant during the summer months and offers an ideal environment for nature lovers and young explorers. Thanks to the wide and well-prepared trail, the walk is also suitable for buggies.
