Every year, towards the end of the summer, local artists present their newest works during the Unika art fair at the Tennis Centre in Ortisei/Roncadizza.
The Art & Nature Trail “Troi UNIKA” puts the focus on art and nature – on the artistic quality of the mountains and on the tradition of carving, deeply rooted in Val Gardena.
Members of the sculpting association “Unika” and other craft artists have expressed their bond to nature by creating places to linger, contemplate and understand.
A total of ten stations invite you to discover the small and big wonders of nature and to admire the original Val Gardena wooden sculptures:
1. Sculpture “The Spiral”
2. The bridge
3. Rest area in the wood
4. Sculpture “The Feather”
5. Trees and rocks
6. 200-year-old spruce
7. View over the valley
8. Sculpture “Pultredes”
9. The Ants
10. The root
This route does not present any particular safety risks.
It is best to always have good hiking boots and a windbreaker with you. You should also pack a drink, snack and sun protection in your rucksack.
In this scenario the surrounding mountain world, nature and art fuse into a harmonious one.
