The Knottnkino in Vöran/Verano is a lookout point. It's outfitted with thirty cinema seats, where the hikers can take a seat and enjoy the unique experience. The site overlooks the whole of the Adige Valley so visitors enjoy stunning views that encompass the Texelgruppe Mountains, Mount Penegal, and even Weißhorn farther afield.

In winter: Due to temperature fluctuations and sub-zero temperatures at night, the hiking trails may be icy. We strongly advise caution and recommend using snow chains for hiking boots.

We recommend to provide information about the current situation.
A family-friendly hike to the open-air cinema in Verano.

Parking area in Hafling Dorf/Avelengo paese, on charge (under the parish church)

Coming from both directions of the freeway Meran/Merano - Bolzano/Bozen (MEBO), take the exit of Meran Süd/Merano Sud and follow directions towards Meran first, to then turn right towards Hafling/Avelengo, follow the street until the parking lot in Hafling Dorf (below the parish church).

With the bus until the bus stop Hafling Dorf:

  • Bus no. 204 Hafling - Vöran - Mölten - Terlan - Bozen
  • Bus no. 225 Meran - Hafling - Falzeben (until Hafling Dorf, than change to busline no. 204)

You'll find the timetable on the site: www.suedtirolmobil.info/en/

Starting from the car park in Hafling village, first follow trail no. 16, which takes you along a paved road and then a wide forest path towards the Bruggen pond. Shortly before the pond, trail no. 11 branches off to the left. A few steps later, at the farm on your left, turn right onto trail no. 14. This winds its way through the forest and takes you steadily uphill to Knottnkino, where an impressive panorama awaits you.

For the return journey, first follow trail no. 14 again to the crossroads. There, keep left and hike leisurely back to Hafling village via trails no. 12 and 12A.
