The hill, where today dozens of stone towers stand, was used by celts for their cultural ceremonies. And because of the habit of putting stones on top of each other to form a tower, some of those towers have reached a considerable height and are till today, a place surrounded by magic and many legends.

hiking description:
Starting from Mölten, you walk along the main street towards Schlaneid until the road crosses with path n. 13. Switch at the junction Hohlweg to path n. 15 (parking lot Kircheben). Walk past Sattlerhütte and Möltner Kaser along the paths 28 and 23 A to this legendary place. (about  3- 4 hours).




Comfortable clothing and good shoes
The Stoanerne Mandln are a "Must See" in South Tyrol.
Parking place Schermoos above Mölten

By car from the Brenner Pass, take the A22 motorway to the Bolzano Sud exit, then take the MEBO expressway in the direction of Meran until the Terlan exit. From there, take the mountain road to Mölten and then in direction Jenesien to the parking place Schermoos.

From the Schermoos car park, take hiking trail nos. 17 and 15 to the Möltner Kaser. From there you can either take the direct and somewhat steeper hiking trail nr. 23 A to the Stoanernen Mandln, or you can opt for the easier diversion via the Auenjoch, hiking trail nr. 4 and then nr. 23 and 23/C.
