General description

A very beautiful, somewhat strenuous hike from Laives/Leifers, through the Brantental valley, to Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen.

Route description

The trail starts in the centre of Laives/Leifers. From there the hike begins along Via Pietralba into the Brantental valley, past "Haus Emmaus" to the "Schwobmiel" refreshment point. Until here the road is paved, so you can reach it by car too. From the refreshment point, the somewhat stony, former carriage path no. 5 leads past the loading point of an abandoned fluorite mine, along the Brantental river through the wooded valley to the Hackl farm and then climbs north through the spruce forest to the Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen plateau. From this beautiful mountain village you have a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. The view from the Obkircher inn (approx. 1430 m) is particularly beautiful and worth seeing. You can return to Laives/Leifers by bus.
