From the parking area at the Gasser Hut, follow the route across the serviced alpine pasture of Mair in Plun to the Gaststeiger Saddle. From here, follow trail marker no. 1 along the broad ridge all the way to the refuge hut located on the summit of the Rittner Horn. For the return, the variant from the Unterhornhaus is recommended: follow marker no. 15 via Kapranka to the Kaser parking area (P3) and then back to the Gasser Hut. (In winter, the trail from the Gasser Hut to the Rittner Horn is groomed/packed)

A very rewarding and easy hike. The Rittner Horn is one of South Tyrol’s most beautiful panoramic summits.
Fee-paying parking at Saltnerstein.
From Klausen, take the LS87 to Villanders (village). At the DESPAR, turn right towards the Villanders Alm. After about 25 minutes’ drive, you reach the Saltnerstein car park (Gasser Hut).
