From Maiern to the Aglsbodenalm mountain hut

Starting from the Mining Museum in Maiern, at the end of the Ridnauntal valley, the route initially follows trail no. 9. The ascent can either be made through the impressive Burkhardklamm gorge (trail no. 8) or by continuing along trail no. 9 outside the gorge. Beyond the gorge, both routes rejoin and lead to the Aglsbodenalm mountain hut on trail no. 8.

Parking is available at the Mining Museum in Maiern, at the end of the Ridnauntal valley, which marks the starting point of the hike.

From Sterzing, continue towards the Ridnauntal valley as far as Maiern, at the very end of the valley. The Mining Museum, which marks the starting point of the hike, is located here.

The starting point can be reached by bus line 312 (Sterzing/Vipiteno – Ridnaun/Val Ridanna). Get off at the final stop, “Bergbaumuseum/Museo delle Miniere”, located directly at the starting point of the hike.
