This lovely mountain hike in the Merano 2000 hiking area passes through the breathtaking landscape at the foot of the Ifinger mountain. Along the way there are cozy huts and rustic mountain inns offering refreshments.

Before setting out on your day excursion, please make sure of the weather and trail conditions.

From Merano in the direction of Avelengo and on to Falzeben.

  • Bus line 225 from Meran to Avelengo/Hafling (bus stop: Falzeben)

The starting point of this hike in the area below the Ifinger summit is the valley station of the Merano 2000 gondola in Falzeben. To begin, the route climbs along trail no. 14 to the Zuegghütte mountain hut. Here, trail no. 41 forks left to Ochsenboden. Following trail no. 3 the route then heads downhill to the Gsteier mountain inn. From here it is possible to take the cable car downhill into the Naiftal valley. Otherwise the hike continues on foot back to Scena.
