Route description

Start at the Altfasstal parking lot (1,600 m) and ride gently downhill towards the Altfassbach. From here, the trail ascends gradually through the valley, with two shorter, steeper sections. The effort is well rewarded, as you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Fallmetzer and Gurnatsch.

At the end of the valley, you’ll reach the Pranterstadl Hut (1,833 m) and the Wieserhütte (1,850 m) – perfect spots for a break in nature. This tour is also ideal for a Bike & Hike: a climb to the Seefeld Lakes and Seefeld Peak (2,715 m) is a great option. The return follows the same route back.

Parking
You can park at the Altfasstal parking lot or at the Gitschberg cable car station parking lot.
Public transport

Accessible from Mühlbach with the Mühlbach - Meransen cable car (no. 413).

Author's tip
Don’t have your own bike? No problem! Bike Rental Peppi near the church in Meransen or Rentasport at the Gitschberg cable car station offer the perfect bike for your adventure. Starting from these locations makes the tour a bit longer – a bonus for ambitious bikers!
General description

Biking tour through the natural jewel Altfasstal Valley to the Pranterstadl hut (1.833 m) and Wieser hut (1.850 m). From the parking Altfasstal (1.600 m), slightly down to Altfassbach and then always slightly uphill through the valley with two shorter steep steps. The route is rewarded with a breathtaking view to the Fallmetzer and Gaisjoch peak. The mountain bike tour is very easy to combine with subsequent ascent to the Seefeld lakes and the Seefeldspitze peak (2.715 m) as a bike & hike Tour. The way back is the same.
