Barbian/Barbiano
The crooked church tower of Barbian
The leaning tower belongs to the parish church of St James and is located in the centre of Barbian. Its clearly visible tilt makes it one of the village’s best-known landmarks. It is an interesting sight for visitors of all ages.
Around 10 to 15 minutes are enough to view the tower from the outside. The tower itself is normally not open to the public.
Please respect the quiet surroundings of the parish church during Mass and other religious services. If you would also like to visit the interior of the church, check the opening hours in advance.
Height: 37,00 metres
Inclination: 1,56 metres
From Klausen, take the SS12 towards Bolzano to Waidbruck. Turn towards Barbian and follow the road to the village centre. The leaning tower is clearly visible from a distance.
