Bus 266 - Naturno/Unterstell - Texelbahn, stazione cablecar Aschbach

description to arrive at destination

Take the new Vinschgau train or the public bus to Rabland and then the Aschbach cablecar up to 1362 mt.

Author's tip
The circular hike on the Aschbach forest adventure trail, which begins above the top station of the Aschbach cable car, is highly recommended. In a playful and experience-oriented way, the varied adventure trail conveys the theme of forest and wood in its many facets. Especially suitable for families with children. The well-known and popular Merano mineral water comes from the springs on the Vigiljoch.

Route description

From the top station of the cable car in the small village of Aschbach you first walk along path no. 27 moderately uphill through the dense coniferous forests of the Nörderberg to the Naturnser Alm at 1,910 m. From there, above the timberline, follow trail no. 9b and past the "Rauhen Bühel"; to the Ulten side of the mountain to the crossroads of path no. 9b and 9. At the fork in the road, turn left and follow path no. 9, which leads level and slightly downhill to the plateau of the Vigiljoch at 1,793 m. It is worthwhile to visit the small church St. Vigilius. From the Vigiljoch you follow path n. 28, in sections a bit steep, or more comfortable, the wide forest path down to Aschbach. By cable car and public transport you can reach the starting point in Naturns again.

General description

The special feature of this hike is the 360° panorama of the Rauhen Bühel and the Vigiljoch.
