This tour is especially rewarding on clear days, when the summit offers wide views over the Rieserferner Group. An early start is recommended for cooler temperatures and a quieter experience.

The hike from Antholz Niedertal to the peak Amperspitze (2,687 m) is a varied and scenic mountain tour in the inner Antholz Valley. The route leads through quiet forests and alpine pastures into high alpine terrain.

Starting in Antholz Niedertal, the trail passes farms and forest roads to Neuhütte, then continues via Dorfmüller Alm hut and Niedertaler Ochsenalm hut– both unstaffed alpine huts in a peaceful setting. As altitude increases, impressive views of the Rieserferner Group open up.

From Ampertörl, the alpine section begins, leading to the summit of Amperspitze, which offers fantastic panoramic views. The return follows the same route. The tour requires good fitness and sure-footedness but is not technically difficult.

Sturdy hiking boots with good grip, weather-appropriate clothing, and sufficient water are essential, as there are no serviced huts along the route. Bringing food, sun protection, and optionally trekking poles is recommended.
