Pfunders
Pfunders Alpine Hut Circuit
The Pfunders Alpine Hut Circuit offers a varied hike through alpine landscapes, with panoramic views and refreshment stops along the way. The route takes you to traditional alpine huts and viewpoints overlooking the Pfunders Valley and extending as far as the Peitlerkofel mountain.
From there it is an additional 45-minute walk to the starting point of the hike.
This summer, a shuttle service will operate on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 July to 30 August. The shuttle departs from Lärcher and takes you to the starting points for hikes on the Eggerseite and in Dun.
The starting point of this circular hike is the parking lot in the hamlet of Dun. From here, the Alpine Hut Trail begins. First, follow trail no. 17 uphill for a short distance before turning right onto trail no. 13A. After a while, continue left on trail no. 13 and later on trail no. 18 to the Egger-Bodenalm with its cheese dairy.
After passing the hut, the trail continues for a short distance before turning right along the hillside to trail no. 13. Follow it to the junction with the Pfunderer High Trail. Turn right again towards Kuhscharte Pass and continue for a short section along the newly built forest road. The route leads to the Gampiel Alm, which offers panoramic views over the Pfunderer Valley as far as Mount Peitler Kofel (Sass de Putia). Families will also enjoy the hut's small petting zoo.
The descent follows the forest road down to the Egger farms. From there, continue on trail no. 13 and finally turn left onto the "Old Path". The circular hike ends back at the parking lot in the hamlet of Dun.
