Village museum in Aldein next to the church.
The Aldein village tour will take you first to the valley and the Mill Museum and to the Maria Schnee Chapel. You can then stroll through a well-groomed cultural landscape over the porphyry plateau to Lake Göller. This is a great opportunity to stop for a pause before continuing the roundtrip tour via the Burgstallegg and then back to the village square. This charming landscape presents an inviting opportunity to relax and linger.
In high temperatures, direct sun should be avoided, sufficient sun protection should be used, and the weather forecast should be checked before the hike.
Suitable equipment includes good hiking shoes, enough water, a first-aid kit, hiking poles if needed, as well as weather-appropriate clothing and sun protection.
The Aldein loop trail leads to the mill museum, the “Maria Schnee” chapel, and Lake Göllersee. Via Burgstallegg, the route returns to Aldein.
In the village center or at the Aldein fire station.
Aldein can be reached from the South Tyrolean lowlands via Auer or Neumarkt. The road then continues through Montan to Aldein.
The journey is by train from Bolzano to Neumarkt. The bus stop for line 142 is located directly next to the train station and takes you to Aldein. Get off at the “Aldein, Kirche” stop.
The hike starts in the village center of Aldein and follows the signs towards “Thal” to the mill museum and the Maria Schnee chapel. From there, the trail continues through meadows and forests up to the porphyry plateau. At the junction, follow the direction of Lake Göllersee and the path to the resting area by the lake. The route then continues via Burgstallegg and finally returns to the village center of Aldein.
