249 Hofer Alpl loop route
This tour takes you along forest roads through masses of woodland to the Schlern-Rosengarten nature reserve. The trail leads past the Völser Weiher Lake and the Tuff Alm hut mountain hut to the Hofer Alpl on the slopes of the Schlern.
· On the mountain you greet each other, this is tradition and this applies to bikers and hikers
· Give way to pedestrians
· Respect signage and stay on the trail/path
· Close pasture gates and don’t scare/stroke animals
· Always ride in a way that allowes you to stop in case of emergency (ride with foresight)
· Use your brakes smoothly in order not to ruin trails, paths and gravel roads

Beginning in Völs am Schlern, this tour leads off the main road and through St. Anton to St. Konstantin, where you cross the road and take the first ascent past the idyllic Völs am Schlern and Huber Weiher lakes with views of the Schlern. From the Tuff Alm mountain hut, the route crosses the Völserbach, just a few metres from the freight cable car which, at 1,452 m, is the highest point of the route. You need a little patience before you can really enjoy a rest, as the Hofer Alpl is still a few bends downhill. Once you’ve replenished your energy, take the forest road downhill to the Hieblerhof farm and continue along the tarred road back to your set-off point.
