From the tourist office in Monguelfo (1087 m), climb up to the north-eastern edge of the village and continue for a short distance to the crossroads, where you turn right and follow trail no. 41 continuously, at first on a narrow path through the woods to the farms Kammerlechn, Gradler and Karmann (1460 m) and then on the Roman Path “Römerweg” (again along trail no. 41, a beautiful walking trail), taking a long walk eastwards along the high forest ridge, which is partly flat and partly characterised by slight ups and downs. The Roman Path “Römerweg” itself continues eastwards and after a slight ascent ends at the Monte Rota farmstead to the north-west above Toblach (1591 m). From Monta Rota, the moderately steep descent, following trail no. 22 across meadows forests, finally leads to the north-western edge of the village of Toblach and then to the village centre (1241 m; from Monte Rota ¾ hour). Return by train to Monguelfo.
