Scena/Schenna
Mountain tour over the Hönigspitze Peak (2.695 m) to Punta Civina
The location of the Hönigspitze Peak directly above the Videgger Assen and its unobstructed views down into the Merano Valley basin, over Verdines and Scena, make this mountain route a well-loved variant to the Punta Civina mountain ascent.
The starting point for this hike us the Verdins-Talle cable car valley station, from where you take the Talle-Grube chair lift. Then, you begin the first easy ascent to Stafell (path no. 7) to reach the climb to the Hönigspitze Peak, which is only suitable for experienced hikers. From there, take the mountain ridge to Punta Civina, which is 2781m above sea level.
For the descent, you can use part of the European long-distance path system. This stretch forks between both summits (Punta Civina and Hönigspitze Peak) and takes you down to the Tallner Alm. Continue along path no. 8A to the Grube, from where you can take the chair lift back to the Verdins-Talle cable car mountain station. Once you’ve taken the cable car back to Verdins, you can return to Scena or Merano in comfort by taking the bus.
