The Gitschberg Alpine Hut Circuit takes you to the most charming alpine huts in the region, from rustic cabins to cozy refreshment stops. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views over the Puster Valley and the Pfunderer mountains. The panoramic points at the Moser Hut and the Gampen rest area, with its unique wooden sculptures, are especially worth visiting.

Start at the Gitschberg mountain station– the cable car brings you comfortably to the starting point. The loop trail is well-marked, so navigation is easy.

First, follow Trail 20 to the Gitsch Hut (refreshments available). Continue on Trail 12 to the Zassler Hut (no refreshments available) and then take Trail 21 to reach Ochsenboden. Follow the path to the junction with Trail 6, turn left past Kleiner Gitsch to the panoramic viewpoint, and continue to the Moser Hut (refreshments available).

From the Moser Hut, descend to the Gampen rest area and then turn left, crossing meadows and forest to reach the Gassler Alm and the Bacher Hut (refreshments available). Continue on Trail 14, then right on Trail 19A to Kiener Alm (refreshments available). Head back up on Trail 20 and then left onto the Geißraste circular path to Pichler Hut (refreshments available). Finally, follow the loop back to the Gitschberg cable car mountain station.

At the Gitschberg cable car base station, you’ll find ample parking for a convenient start to your hike.
